Chobe Game Lodge prides itself in offering a choice of land and water based activities and the most complete game experience within the Chobe area. Game drives are conducted in open sided 4x4 vehicles ensuring maximum visibility, while game viewing on the Chobe River is conducted by small, shallow draft and highly manoeuvrable boats, perfect for morning or sunset cruises. Enjoy a cruise along the Chobe River on the double-decker river cruiser, the Mosi-oa-Tunya, with on board bar & snacks. The resident professional guides & environmentalist also offer stargazing on the stargazing deck. Should you wish to pamper yourself, schedule an appointment with the in-house beautician or book the gym for a private workout.

What makes every visit to the Chobe National Park and the Chobe River front unique to travellers staying at Chobe Game Lodge is the fact that this premier establishment is the only permanent game lodge situated within the boundaries of Chobe National Park. Chobe Game Lodge is built along the banks of the Chobe River and offers un-surpassed views of the Chobe River and floodplains from its numerous communal areas as well as all its guest rooms.

Chobe National Park’s wildlife roams in abundance and diversity. It is home to the largest concentration of elephant in Africa and during the dry season these herds, as well as large herds of buffalo, congregate along the fertile flood plains of the Chobe River. Magnificent sightings of lion, wild dog, puku, red lechwe, sable, giraffe and roan antelope are also frequent in the area. Because of this incredible location, when staying at Chobe Game Lodge, guests have direct access to this amazing wildlife experience without having to enter and exit the National Park with every activity. The ability to observe the sun setting over the Chobe River, with a herd of elephant crossing through the river as a silhouette, is a potential experience unique to guests at Chobe Game Lodge.

Your stay at Chobe Game Lodge is fully inclusive of accommodation, all meals, local brand beverages, unlimited activities, park entrance fees as well as laundry service.

Chobe Game Lodge has 47 guest accommodation rooms which are all river facing and air conditioned with overhead fans, complimentary mini bar, en-suite bathrooms and private terrace. For those guests who demand the ultimate in exclusivity, Chobe Game Lodge has four river view suites, each with their own plunge pool and a separate lounge area. Electricity at the lodge is supplied via the national grid, and power is available 24 hours a day. Video cameras can be recharged in guest rooms - AC 220V.

Other facilities include a large swimming pool with terrace, an elevated riverside viewing deck to relax on as well as a reference library with lounge and terrace.

Meals are catered for at the terrace restaurant overlooking the Chobe River or at the riverside Boma depending on the weather and Executive Chef’s meal plan for your stay.

For guests needing to keep in touch, broadband internet access is available at the Thwene bar, a stylish cigar bar with a champion sized billiard table and outside terrace overlooking the Chobe River.

Chobe Game Lodge accepts children of all ages. Please note that no child care / baby sitting facilities and services are available and due to the nature of the lodge’s location, children must be under the care of their parents at all times.

Private Guides

Rob was born in the southern highlands of Tanzania and was introduced to the bush at a young age. His first stomping grounds were in Ruaha National Park, Tanzania, where the family would regularly go camping. After finishing school, Rob went on to work in Ruaha guiding for a season at a lodge with family friends. This is where he knew that a life of guiding and working in the bush was unquestionably the one for him. Rob studied in Bristol, UK and graduated with a BA(Hons) but the bush was always calling. Before leaving the UK for good and returning to his roots, Rob was elected as a Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society (FRGS).

He came to Botswana and was immediately taken by the incredible wilderness and diversity of the country and soon realised that this was to be his new home. He went on to start up Golden Okavango, and today, as Director of the company and a fully licensed professional guide of Botswana, he continues to work throughout the country, in the Okavango, Chobe and Kalahari, leading safaris for many repeat clients who keep coming back for more. He also has some pretty bad jokes that’ll make you groan, so don’t encourage him too much!
