TRAVEL TIPS → Pack a camera, binoculars, sun hat and glasses and insect repellent, plus a warm jacket/fleece for morning drives.

NB → 15kgs weight limit in soft bags applies. Precise game activities/timings may differ from those shown according to local conditions.

FLY-IN SAFARI
All game drives are escorted by English speaking rangers.

DAY 1 → Fly from either Mombasa or Nairobi by light aircraft (Safari Link or similar) to the famous Maasai Mara, where you enjoy an afternoon game drive in the camps’ own open four-wheel drive vehicles, guided by their expert rangers. The reserve is a haven of wildlife activity and undoubtedly boasts some of the best game viewing in the whole world. Extremely popular during the migration season of July to October but fantastic game viewing is to be had all year round here. You may choose to stay at the four star Governors’ Main Camp or Little Governors’, both superbly run by the safari camp professionals, with excellent and knowledgeable safari driver-guides, delicious food and superb service. The two camps nestle on different locations on the banks of the Mara River and are often frequented by hippo and elephants. The main camp features 37 en suite tents, a central bar and mess tent area and is nestled in woodland along the Mara river. Little Governors’, with just 17 tents has a more intimate feel as it is smaller, set overlooking a waterhole where elephants often come to drink and to access the camp guests have to cross a small river in a boat.

DAY 2 → Enjoy two days with rewarding game drives in the Mara on both days. Enjoy game drives before and after delicious ‘bush breakfasts’ as well as in the afternoon, when you can track the animals seen earlier in the day or search for new animals to marvel at. Perhaps use one of these days to experience a balloon safari, an ideal and unique way to see the plains and their game from a different perspective (details below) and the launch site is just behind Little Governors’ camp.

DAY 4 → Early morning game drive before your departure by light aircraft (Safari Link or similar) for Nairobi or Mombasa. Transfer to your Nairobi or beach hotel.
NB → If the afternoon flight is taken an extra lunch cost is incurred.

3 Nights From Maasai Mara to Maasai Mara
