FLY-IN SAFARI
This safari includes light aircraft flights between locations to reduce travelling time and maximise time on safari. All game drives are conducted by English speaking rangers. DAY 1 → Depart Nairobi or Mombasa by light aircraft (Safari Link or similar) flying over the vast plains of southern Kenya to the savannahs of the Maasai Mara and the Siana Springs conservancy. On arrival at either Siana Springs (three and a half star) or Mara Bushtops (five star) enjoy lunch and some relaxation at your tent or by the pool. Both camps include transfers from the airstrip, game drives, all meals, plus beer and non-alcoholic drinks are included at Mara Bushtops. Siana Springs has 38 well appointed and fully equipped tents with en suite facilities, bar, restaurant and peaceful, lush grounds. Mara Bushtops is exclusive to Kuoni clients and is one of the most luxurious tented camps in the area with 12 superb tents featuring indoor/outdoor showers, flaps that open up on three sides to the bush, ‘tentmaster service’ plus a wooden viewing deck with sunken bath and telescope. An infinity pool, restaurant and lounge with a beautiful outdoor fire area that overlooks a salt lick where big game is often spotted and a wine cellar complete the camps’ excellent facilities. In the afternoon enjoy a game drive, in search of the resident lions, elephants, giraffe and plains game, to name just a few of the species you are likely to see. Return to camp in time for a pre dinner drink by the fire and a sumptuous meal.
DAY 2 → Search out more big game including the elusive leopard and cheetah on morning or afternoon drives today. Perhaps enjoy a sundowner in the bush or enjoy one of the free massages offered at Mara Bushtops.
DAY 3 → Set out on a thrilling early morning game drive today, often the best time to catch the predators while they are still active before they retire for the day. Return to the camp for breakfast, after which there is an optional bush walk (extra cost) before leaving, when you take a final short game drive (either with picnic snack or after lunch) en route to the airstrip for your flight back to Nairobi or Mombasa, taking with you magical memories and hopefully fantastic photographs.
